The short version. Try before you pay — the browser tools mask 2 documents a day free, with no account and no card. If you subscribe to Pro and it is not right for you, email contact@maskaadhaar.com within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund it. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling is never a condition of getting a refund.
1. Scope
This policy covers the MaskAadhaar Pro subscription (₹399 per month) and any volume-priced API plan purchased from MaskAadhaar. It sits alongside our Terms of Service, section 8 of which governs billing generally. Where this policy and section 8 differ on refunds, this policy is the one that applies.
The free browser tools involve no payment and nothing to refund.
2. The 7-day refund window
You may request a full refund of your first subscription payment within 7 calendar days of the date that payment was made. You do not need to give a reason, and the request does not need to be approved on the merits — if it arrives inside the window and it is your first payment, it is refunded.
We ask for this window because you can establish whether the tool works on your own documents in minutes, using the free tier, before any money changes hands.
3. Renewals
Pro renews automatically each month until cancelled. Renewal payments fall outside the 7-day window described above and are not refundable as a matter of course, because you have had a full month's access.
Two exceptions, where we refund a renewal in full:
- You cancelled before the renewal date and were charged anyway.
- The Service was materially unavailable for a substantial part of the billing month through a fault on our side.
If you forgot to cancel and have not used the plan since the renewal, write to us anyway. We would rather refund it than keep money for a service you did not use.
4. What is not refundable
- Documents already processed through the API. Each API call consumes compute we have already paid for. Where a partial refund is appropriate, we deduct the calls consumed and refund the remainder.
- Custom or annual enterprise agreements, which are governed by their own signed terms rather than by this page.
- Accounts terminated for a breach of the Terms of Service — for example, using the Service to process documents you have no lawful basis to process.
To be explicit about one case that is not on this list: a masking result you are unhappy with is a refundable reason inside the 7-day window. OCR is not infallible, we say so on the Terms page, and you should not be out of pocket for finding out.
5. How to request a refund
Email contact@maskaadhaar.com from the address your account is registered to, with:
- Your registered email address.
- The Razorpay Payment ID or Subscription ID from your payment receipt
(it looks like
pay_XXXXXXXXXXXXorsub_XXXXXXXXXXXX). - Optionally, what went wrong — useful to us, but not required inside the 7-day window.
We acknowledge every request within 2 business days and approve or decline it within 5 business days. If we decline, we say why.
6. How the money comes back
- Refunds are issued through Razorpay, back to the original payment method. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card, account, or UPI ID.
- Once approved, we initiate the refund within 2 business days.
- Your bank or card issuer then takes a further 5–10 business days to post it. That leg is outside our control; Razorpay's reference number is your evidence that it was sent, and we will supply it on request.
- Refunds are made in Indian Rupees for the amount charged. We do not compensate for exchange-rate movement or for fees your own bank may levy.
7. Cancelling your subscription
Cancel any time from your dashboard, or by emailing contact@maskaadhaar.com. Cancellation:
- Stops all future charges.
- Leaves your paid access running until the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not cut you off on the day you cancel.
- Is not, by itself, a refund request. If you want both, say so in the same email.
After the paid period ends, your account reverts to the free tier. It is not deleted, and your usage history stays available to you.
8. Failed and duplicate payments
If you were charged twice for the same billing period, or charged after cancelling, email us with both Payment IDs. Duplicate charges are refunded in full and are not counted against the 7-day window.
If a payment fails, no access is granted and no money is captured. An amount that appears debited after a failed payment is an authorisation hold, and your bank releases it — usually within 5–7 business days — without any action from us.
9. Disputes
Please write to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback locks the funds for weeks and gives us no way to simply refund you, whereas nearly every request that reaches us is settled the same week. If we cannot agree, the dispute provisions in section 15 of the Terms of Service apply.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced at least 14 days in advance by email to registered users. The policy that applies to your purchase is the one published on the date you paid, and a later change never reduces a refund right you already had.
11. Contact
Refunds, cancellations and billing questions: contact@maskaadhaar.com. We reply within 24–48 hours on business days.
