Last updated: 24 March 2026  |  Effective from: 24 March 2026

Critical Disclaimer — Please Read: MaskAadhaar is an independent, privately operated software service. We are NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or authorised by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Government of India, any State Government, or any other regulatory or governmental authority. We are not a UIDAI-licensed entity, not an Authentication User Agency (AUA), not a KYC User Agency (KUA), and not a Sub-AUA. Use of the term "Aadhaar" is solely descriptive of the document type this tool is designed to process, not an assertion of any official affiliation.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any part of the MaskAadhaar website or API ("the Service") at maskaadhaar.com, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MaskAadhaar. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Nature of the Service

MaskAadhaar provides a browser-based software tool that uses optical character recognition (OCR) technology to detect and mask Aadhaar and PAN card numbers in document images and PDFs. The Service also provides a REST API for programmatic access to this masking functionality.

Important: The browser-based masking tool processes all files locally within your device's web browser. No document or image is transmitted to MaskAadhaar's servers. The Service does not perform Aadhaar authentication, biometric verification, demographic data lookup, or any UIDAI-regulated function. It is a utility tool only.

The masking is performed using automated OCR technology. While we take reasonable steps to ensure accuracy, OCR-based detection is not infallible. It is the user's sole responsibility to verify that all Aadhaar numbers have been successfully masked in the output document before sharing it with any third party. MaskAadhaar expressly disclaims liability for any unmasked numbers in output documents.
